A world-renowned medical institute in Boston,
Massachusetts needed a very specialized
playground to service the play needs of their
three hundred child residents, who are a
combination of blind, deaf, and ambulatory
children. Play wood Structures met that
challenge. Henderson's designers used a rubber
suspension bridge and special multi-sided nets
to allow children with limited mobile access to
be able to have challenging walking and climbing
experiences. A variety of textures and special
spacing were used to provide sensory clues to
children feeling their way around the structure.
